Alpharetta and Milton residents can weigh in on how they get around and what transportation improvements they want before a Sept. 18 survey deadline.

The North Fulton Comprehensive Transportation Plan is collecting public input through an online survey hosted on the City of Alpharetta's website. The survey closes Friday, Sept. 18, and asks residents how they currently travel, where they run into problems and which improvements should get priority.

The stakes are practical.

The finished plan will help determine which projects qualify for local dollars and which compete for regional, state and federal funding, according to North Atlanta Star reporting. The Atlanta Regional Commission is leading the effort in partnership with Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Roswell and Sandy Springs.

The plan covers roads, intersections, transit, pedestrian safety, bicycle connections and other ways people move between the cities. One source, the North Atlanta Star, also listed Mountain Park among the participating communities.

The City of Alpharetta promoted the survey on its verified government X account on Wednesday, Sept. 2, saying the plan seeks input on how residents travel and which transportation improvements matter most to them.

Planners have already held several in-person outreach events. The project team set up a booth at Avalon Nights Live on Friday, July 31. An open house followed on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Preston Ridge Community Center, 3655 Preston Ridge Road, Suite 100, in Alpharetta, according to Appen Media. The team also gathered feedback at the Alpharetta Farmers Market on Saturday, Aug. 29.

No city official from Alpharetta or Milton has commented publicly on the survey's progress or how many responses have been collected. No post-survey milestone, such as a plan adoption date or next public meeting, has been announced.
