Two free Veterans Day events give Alpharetta and Milton residents a chance to honor local veterans Saturday, Nov. 7, days before the official holiday.
American Legion Post 201 in Alpharetta opens its front lawn at 201 Wills Road for the 10th annual Veterans Day Cruz-In from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show welcomes all vehicles and is open to the public at no charge, according to the Legion's event page. Food, drinks and children's activities will be available. Proceeds support veterans and their families.
Earlier that morning, Milton holds its annual Veterans Breakfast for local veterans and their families. The breakfast starts at 9 a.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers at 2006 Heritage Walk, the North Atlanta Star reported Nov. 5.
The breakfast is free, but seating in the Council Chambers is limited. Residents must RSVP in advance by emailing [email protected], according to the city's event page. No sold-out notice had been posted as of Thursday, the North Atlanta Star reported.
Milton Community Outreach Manager Emily Salerno is the city contact for the breakfast. She can be reached at [email protected].
The Cruz-In is open to anyone who wants to bring a vehicle or walk the lawn and browse. For questions, the post can be reached at [email protected] or (770) 475-9023.
