Fulton County commissioners will decide Wednesday, July 15, whether to approve a $231,606 water main relocation project in Milton and a maintenance agreement for roads and water infrastructure in Alpharetta's Continuum development.

Both items are on the agenda for the Board of Commissioners' 10 a.m. meeting at the Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor Street SW, Atlanta.

The Milton project, agenda item 26-0409, is an intergovernmental agreement between the county and the City of Milton for water main relocations tied to road improvements at the Cox Road and King Road intersection. The Alpharetta item, 26-0412, would clarify which government handles maintenance of roadways and water infrastructure within The Continuum development.

More North Fulton items on the table

The board will also consider a $9.48 million state grant to plan and design a Behavioral Health Crisis Center in North Fulton. The contract with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities would run from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

On elections, commissioners will vote on a temporary staffing contract with Abacus Corporation of Morrow, Georgia, worth up to $8,958,784.66 to staff the November General Election, Nonpartisan Election, and runoff elections through December 31, 2026.

Two road resurfacing agreements with GDOT are also on the agenda: one for State Route 141 (Medlock Bridge Road) from the Gwinnett County line to the Forsyth County line at an estimated cost of $33,000, and another for Roswell Road (State Route 9) from Meadowbrook Drive to Abernathy Road at $174,000.

A separate item would authorize a public-private partnership with GDOT for sewer relocation to support new express lanes on SR 400 from Northland Drive to the North Springs MARTA Station. The sewer work would come at no cost to the county, according to the agenda.

Who represents Alpharetta and Milton

Two commissioners cover the area. Commissioner Bridget Thorne represents District 1, which includes parts of Alpharetta and Sandy Springs. Commissioner Bob Ellis represents District 2, encompassing Milton, Mountain Park, and large portions of Alpharetta and Roswell. Ellis resides in Milton.

The board will also consider a resolution co-sponsored by Ellis and Vice Chair Khadijah Abdur-Rahman opposing the proposed extension of existing City of Atlanta Tax Allocation Districts.
