Fulton County residents can get free pet adoptions, vaccinations and microchipping at Rock Mill Park in Alpharetta on Thursday, Oct. 22.

Fulton County Commissioners Bob Ellis and Bridget Thorne organized the Pet Wellness & Adoption Day in partnership with LifeLine Animal Project's mobile clinic. Ellis, who represents District 2 and lives in Milton, announced the event on X on Oct. 13, urging pet owners to sign up before spots fill.

Free services at the event include a veterinary exam, a rabies vaccine, a microchip and vaccines including DHPP for dogs and FVRCP for cats. The event is limited to Fulton County residents who pre-register. Non-county residents who sign up will be rescheduled, according to the LifeLine registration page.

Spots are limited and appointments are required. Residents can book a time slot through LifeLine's Calendly registration page, linked in Ellis's post.

What to bring and know before you go:

  • All dogs must be on leashes.
  • All cats must be in appropriate carriers.
  • Pre-registration is required.

Thorne, who represents District 1 covering parts of Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Roswell and Sandy Springs, is co-hosting the event. LifeLine Animal Project runs mobile clinics across Fulton County offering free and low-cost veterinary care. The organization also operates a Pets for Life program providing free spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations, licensing and supplies for Fulton County residents in select zip codes.

The Oct. 22 event falls during a busy stretch for Alpharetta-area community programming. Residents should check the LifeLine registration page for scheduling details and available appointment times.
