Milton's Crabapple district will host a new food truck festival series starting Thursday, Oct. 15, with more than a dozen trucks spread across two locations.

The Wanderlust Food Truck Fest, produced by traveling event organizer AY Productions, will run from 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 15 and return four more times through December, according to a City of Milton announcement. The city called the series a new concept for Milton.

Two clusters of trucks will operate simultaneously.

The "West Side" setup fills the Market District Crabapple parking lot at 12655 Birmingham Highway, where live music is expected. The "East Side" occupies the gravel area behind Crabapple Market, near the Green where cornhole players gather. All five events will use the same two locations and the same 4 to 8 p.m. window.

The city said the exact truck lineup was still being finalized as of Tuesday, Oct. 6, but estimated more than a dozen options covering a wide range of cuisines. Organizers plan to rotate trucks in and out across the five dates so each event offers a different mix.

The city's announcement pitched the format as a fit for families with kids, church groups, youth sports teams and large gatherings where a restaurant reservation would be difficult. The two-location setup also gives groups that cannot agree on a single cuisine room to split up and explore.

The series is sponsored by The Butler Swayne Team, a Milton-based Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices real estate group led by Stephanie Butler and Lisa Swayne. AY Productions runs similar Wanderlust events in other markets, including Bradenton, Florida, and Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. The Milton series marks the brand's first season in the city.

No ticket or registration requirement has been announced. Residents can check the City of Milton website or the Wanderlust Food Truck Fest Facebook page for lineup updates.
