A masked man forced his way past a gas station employee and stole $83 worth of e-cigarettes during an early-morning robbery on Old Milton Parkway, according to the Alpharetta Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the gas station at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, after the employee reported the theft. The victim, a 43-year-old Norcross woman, told police the man grabbed e-cigarettes from a display case and fled on foot in the direction of a nearby hotel.
The woman told officers she did not see a weapon but feared the suspect was armed.
Police review surveillance footage
The department said officers reviewed surveillance footage from the gas station's cameras. The video showed the suspect physically forcing himself past the employee to reach the display and take the items.
Police have not released a physical description of the suspect beyond "a man wearing a mask." No height, build, clothing details, or vehicle description has been provided.
No arrest announced
No arrest had been announced as of Thursday, July 23, and police have not publicly identified a suspect, named the gas station, or described the nearby hotel the suspect reportedly fled toward. The investigation remains open.
