Milton's Crabapple corridor has a new gathering spot. Market District Crabapple opened its outdoor event space, Market District Green, on Friday, Aug. 7, debuting with the All Nashville Roadshow country music concert, a ticketed show capped at 400.

The green sits at the eastern end of the mixed-use development along Heritage Walk, across from Hyde Brewing, after months of construction, according to a city of Milton announcement. Market District Crabapple, at 12655 Birmingham Highway, already houses restaurants, a brewery, offices and a yoga studio. The new outdoor space adds year-round programming potential to a district that has steadily added tenants.

The All Nashville Roadshow, now in its second year at the site, ran from 5:30 to 10 p.m. with Nashville Americana acts The Woods, Slaw and Summerlyn Powers, hosted by comedian Travis Stevenson. Tickets ranged from $39 to $59. Hyde Brewing, which sits directly across from the green, ran drink specials during the show.

Mayor Peyton Jamison called the space "an exciting addition to downtown Milton" in the city's announcement, saying it will support "the local businesses that make this area so special."

More programming is in the works, though details remain tentative. Market District is exploring an outdoor skating rink starting in November, according to the Roundabout newsletter. Crabapple Live, the monthly mini-festival co-sponsored by the city, is slated to return in spring and summer 2027. Neither has been formally confirmed. The Milton Farmers Market is also confirmed to host events at the green.

Plans call for a permanent stage on the site. An office building under development and extensive landscaping will serve as a buffer between the stage and nearby homes, according to the city. No timeline for stage construction has been announced.

The district's other anchor businesses continue to draw foot traffic. Poe & Company Bookstore has upcoming events including an author talk by Monica Scheidt on Thursday, Aug. 13. Six Bridges Crabapple's taps remain open, though its kitchen is closed for a short renovation as the brewery prepares a new food concept. No reopening date has been announced, a gap worth noting ahead of Milton Restaurant Week, Sept. 8-14.

Crabapple Fest, Milton's annual arts and antiques festival, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3 in downtown Milton, adding another draw to the corridor's fall calendar.
