Rising seniors at FCS Innovation Academy spent Friday, Aug. 14, in a daylong Senior Bootcamp ahead of the 2026-27 school year.
The Alpharetta magnet school's counseling department organized the event for the Class of 2027, according to posts on the school's official X account and Instagram page. The school said the day was packed with information to prepare seniors for the year ahead.
It's a big year.
Innovation Academy, at 125 Milton Avenue, funnels its roughly 1,430 students into three Career, Technical and Agricultural Education pathways: Healthcare Science, Engineering and Information Technology. Seniors must complete at least three credits in one pathway and pass an End of Pathway Assessment exam on top of Georgia's standard 23-credit graduation requirement, according to the school's course catalog.
That dual load makes early planning critical for families. The school's College & Career Center website, updated the day before the bootcamp, lists dedicated pages on financial aid, college admissions testing, college visits and grade-level resources for every class. Dual enrollment is also available to qualifying students in grades 10 through 12, letting them earn high school and college credit at the same time.
The school has not published specific follow-up dates for the Class of 2027's college-application season. Families can check the IA counseling department's College & Career Center page for upcoming events, visit schedules and financial aid deadlines.
