Giulia Italian Bakery has opened its doors at 24 S. Main St. in downtown Alpharetta, giving City Center shoppers a new spot for scratch-made Italian breads, pastries and gelato.

Brothers Ben and Seth Gjuka founded the bakery in 2020. The Alpharetta storefront is their third location, joining shops in Peachtree Corners and Marietta, Appen Media reported.

Each day starts at 4 a.m. for the baking team. The lineup includes croissants, bomboloni, baguettes, sourdough and seasonal pastries, all made by hand with ingredients sourced from Italy. Sandwiches, cakes and focaccia round out the menu, built with Italian cheeses, cured meats and other imports.

The bakery also serves Italian wine, beer, coffee and gelato, according to a CityBiz announcement. To mark the opening, Giulia is offering "mini" sizes of its most popular items so customers can sample several options.

"We believe there's no shortcut to authentic Italian baking," co-founder Seth Gjuka said. "We can't wait for Giulia to become a fixture in downtown Alpharetta's daily routine."

Giulia is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Lisa Carter, property manager at Alpharetta City Center, called the bakery "exactly the kind of concept that makes Alpharetta City Center feel like the heart of downtown," according to CityBiz.

The opening adds to a wave of food-and-drink tenants at the 26-acre mixed-use development. Recent arrivals include Amasa, a Mexican restaurant from local restaurateur Juan Calle, and Grove and Barrel Provisions, a European-inspired market. Sandbox VR, an immersive virtual reality venue, also opened there.

Downtown Alpharetta's dining lineup is set to grow further in 2027. Tomo Japanese Restaurant, a Michelin Guide Recommended sushi spot in Buckhead, plans to open an approximately 2,797-square-foot location at 100 N. Main St. near the Alpharetta Town Green, North Atlanta Star reported. Owner Candi Hoang confirmed the expansion, though a specific opening date has not been announced.

Tomo's menu will include sushi, sashimi, seasonal Japanese dishes and a tableside omakase experience. The original location operates at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Buckhead and has been included in the Michelin Guide's Atlanta restaurant selection for 2023, 2024 and 2025.
