A man wanted for sex trafficking and the rape of a 10-year-old child was arrested Friday, July 17, in Decatur after the Fulton County Sheriff's Office tracked him down through its fugitive apprehension unit.

James Anthony Zachery, 43, had been on Fulton County's Top 10 Most Wanted list when the Sheriff's Strategic Enforcement Unit took him into custody without incident Friday afternoon, the agency announced Saturday, July 18.

Zachery faces charges of rape, aggravated sodomy by force against a person under 10 years old, trafficking a person for sexual servitude, and solicitation of sodomy of a person under 18, according to the Sheriff's Office news release. The agency's official Most Wanted page lists additional charges not included in the press release: false imprisonment, pandering a person under 18, pimping a person under 18, and interference with custody.

He is being held at the Fulton County Jail without bond.

Sheriff Patrick "Pat" Labat praised the SEU team's work in a statement released Saturday.

"The SEU fugitive team did an outstanding job executing this operation and safely apprehending James Anthony Zachery," Labat said. "This is a prime example of the ongoing efforts to strengthen our fugitive apprehension teams."

The Fulton County Sheriff's Office serves Alpharetta, Milton, and all other municipalities within the county. The agency's Most Wanted list names 12 people wanted for offenses ranging from murder to child sex crimes.

No court date or arraignment has been publicly announced.
