Fiorenza Italian opened in mid-June at 11500 Webb Bridge Way in Alpharetta's Agincourt retail center, joining a wave of Italian restaurant openings that one Atlanta food writer calls the defining dining trend of 2026.

The restaurant is the work of Florence-raised restaurateur Jessi Qilafi, who cooked in Florence, New York City and metro Atlanta before launching the Alpharetta concept.

"After more than 15 years working in restaurants across Italy, New York City and the metro Atlanta area, I'm proud to bring the flavors I grew up with to Alpharetta," Qilafi told What Now Atlanta ahead of the opening.

Executive chef Eugene Thompson, whose 18-year résumé includes Oak Steakhouse, Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse and Zakia, leads the kitchen. Jesus Ramirez, formerly of Cooks & Soldiers and Storico Fresco, runs the beverage program with a focus on Italian wines and craft cocktails.

The menu leans heavily on house-made pastas. Signature dishes include Pappardelle al Ragù, Pici Cacio e Pepe and Bistecca alla Fiorentina, alongside antipasti, seafood and steaks.

Part of a metro-wide wave

Rough Draft Atlanta's dining newsletter on Thursday, July 16, named Fiorenza alongside Füm at Star Metals and Novo Cucina's new Brookhaven location as evidence that 2026 is "the year of Italian restaurant openings in Atlanta." Writer Sarra Sedghi noted that all three opened within the past six months and pointed to more planned openings: Italian wine bar Sagra plans to open in East Atlanta Village later this summer, and Victory Sandwich Bar in Decatur is converting to an American-Italian concept by the end of July, according to the newsletter.

What's next for Alpharetta dining

More chef-driven restaurants are headed to downtown Alpharetta. The Alpharetta District Places mixed-use development on Roswell Street broke ground at the end of May, with Phase 1 projected to finish by summer 2027 and businesses expected to open by late fall 2027.

"There will be chef-driven concepts where you know the owner and chef, not national franchises," Erik Rowen, president of McKibbon Places, said in May when the project broke ground.

Developer Brent Beecham of Market District Development said the project is targeting second or third Atlanta-area locations for popular restaurants and retailers, with the Alpha Loop trail running along the Roswell Street side of the property.
