Crumbl’s Alpharetta location remains listed as open as the cookie chain faces declining sales and reports of at least 57 store closures nationwide this year.

The store at 4190 Old Milton Parkway, Suite 2L, has operating hours and pickup, delivery and catering options posted on its official website. The reports reviewed do not identify the Alpharetta location for closure.

Patch reported Oct. 14 that Crumbl has closed at least 57 stores in 2026. The company has not published a complete state-by-state closure list.

An earlier Fast Company report, published in December 2025, identified a closed store at 2615 Peachtree Parkway in Suwanee. That closure predates the reported 2026 total.

Sales and customer visits decline

Customer traffic fell 32% in August compared with the same month a year earlier, according to Placer.ai data cited by Restaurant Business and reported by KUTV.

KUTV also reported that August sales were 70% below their level two years earlier, citing documents obtained by Restaurant Business. Average annual sales per location fell from $1.84 million in 2022 to $1.14 million in 2025.

CEO Jason McGowan accepted responsibility during a presentation to franchise owners, according to Fox 13 Utah’s account of the Restaurant Business report.

“I'm the CEO and the buck stops with me. It's my fault where we are today,” McGowan said.

In a subsequent social media statement, McGowan said he should have anticipated industry challenges sooner and adjusted the company’s course, KUTV reported Oct. 9.

Franchise owners face additional pressures

An effort to increase revenue through dirty sodas — soft drinks mixed with flavored syrups, cream and other ingredients — fell short of expectations, according to the reports.

Fox 13 Utah reported that some franchise owners were frustrated by equipment costs for the drinks and repeated changes to the company’s policy on Sunday openings.

At least 55 franchises were listed for sale on broker websites, according to Restaurant Business’s reporting cited by KUTV.

Separately, Kentucky franchise operator Red Sheep St. Matthews LLC filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on Oct. 1, reporting more than $352,000 in liabilities, Patch reported, citing Inc. The filing involved one Louisville-area franchise operation, rather than Crumbl’s parent company. Owners Rick and Emily Diamond’s other two stores were not part of the filing.

Crumbl operates through independently owned franchises, and performance varies by location. The Alpharetta store can be reached at 470-281-9209.
