Cambridge High School's state champion boys lacrosse players will receive their championship rings at the Bears' Friday, Oct. 2 home football game against Sprayberry.

The ring ceremony adds to a packed evening at the Milton school. Youth and feeder teams will also join the Bears at a home game for the first time this season, Cambridge Athletics announced on X on Sept. 21.

A first for the program

The boys lacrosse team made program history in May. Cambridge reached and won the GHSA state championship for the first time, beating Wesleyan 12-9 in the state semifinal on May 9 before topping Lovett 11-4 in the championship game on May 14.

Cambridge Athletics called the semifinal win the first time in program history the boys had reached the championship game, posting the milestone on May 9.

The girls lacrosse team added to the spring's run, finishing as state runner-up after a 12-14 loss in the championship game on May 13.

Football back from bye week

The ring presentation comes as the football team returns from a bye week. Head coach Tyler Jones' squad enters the Sprayberry game at 2-3 overall and 1-0 in region play, according to MaxPreps.

Cambridge earned its lone region win on Sept. 18, beating Centennial 28-22.

Kickoff against Sprayberry is set for 7:30 p.m.
