Three free events land within a few blocks of each other in downtown Alpharetta on Friday and Saturday, July 24–25, giving residents an evening of shopping and live music followed by a Saturday morning market.
Friday evening: Moonlight Market and On the Green concert
The Moonlight Market opens at 5 p.m. Friday, July 24, along Broad and Market streets at Alpharetta City Center, 2001 Commerce St., and runs until 10 p.m. Local artists and makers sell paintings, jewelry, textiles, and home décor, according to the city's events calendar on Awesome Alpharetta.
One block away, the On the Green concert series begins at 6 p.m. on the Town Green at 2 Park Plaza. The series is presented by the Alpharetta Rotary Club and runs on second and fourth Fridays through September. Each evening features three acts: a young local musician at 6 p.m., an opener at 7 p.m., and a headliner at 8 p.m. Tialauna Live is listed as the featured performer for July 24 on the Awesome Alpharetta event page and the North Atlanta Star. Admission is free.
The two events are close enough to combine into one evening, according to the North Atlanta Star. Alpharetta's open-container district allows attendees to carry beer or wine on the Green, and downtown restaurants are steps away.
Saturday morning: Alpharetta Farmers Market
The Alpharetta Farmers Market runs Saturday, July 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the Town Green at 2 Park Plaza. The weekly market features produce, prepared foods, flowers, and handcrafted goods from local farmers and artisans, according to the city's listing. The market continues every Saturday through November 14.
Weather note
The National Weather Service forecast calls for possible thunderstorms Friday and Saturday. Residents should check the City of Alpharetta website at alpharetta.ga.us or call 678-297-6133 for cancellation updates before heading out.
