A new pro wrestling promotion is setting up shop in Alpharetta. Georgia Pro Wrestling will hold its six-match debut at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, in Heritage Hall at Phase Events, 12150 Morris Road.

The card features one tag-team bout, one women's match and four singles contests, the North Atlanta Star reported. The main event has not been announced. Wrestlers Jeremiah Plunkett and CJ Gallows are confirmed for the show.

Seated tickets cost $30, standing tickets are $20 and children 10 and younger get in for $15. Members of the free Georgia Pro Club receive a $5 discount on adult tickets. Tickets are available at georgiaprowrestling.com.

Founder Tommy Phillips, 43, wrestled on independent circuits under the ring name Shawn Shultz and appeared as extra talent for WWE and TNA, another major wrestling promotion, starting in 2004. He began training at 17 in East Tennessee and stopped competing in early 2018. Phillips also works as a physician liaison at Fyzical Therapy and Balance Centers in South Forsyth and recently earned a marketing degree.

He started planning GPW around 2019. Phillips said Alpharetta's track record of turning out for local events made it the right home for the promotion.

Phillips compared GPW's ambitions to the regional wrestling territories that once defined cities across the South. "I want Georgia to have that again through GPW," he told the North Atlanta Star.

The show will wrap up by 11 p.m. so families can get children home at a reasonable hour. Phillips' wife, a registered nurse, will serve as on-site medical support for performers and fans. Wrestlers will have tables for free meet-and-greets alongside vendor booths run by local businesses.

GPW is launching a youth ambassador program that pairs children from local dance studios with wrestlers during ring entrances. Ramsha Kahn, an Alpharetta finance professional who also works as a DJ, will host the event. Content partner Oz Collins, 18, handles GPW's roster-reveal videos. Collins' father, Justin Collins, ran a small wrestling promotion in East Tennessee.

Phillips has pledged to return 10% of GPW's profits to local charities, though no partner for the debut has been finalized. The promotion is also holding a Thanksgiving food drive at the Nov. 20 show.

If Heritage Hall fills consistently, Phillips and Phase Events plan to move GPW into the venue's larger Legacy Theater, which holds up to 600 seats. A tentative return show is planned for January.
