An Alpharetta man kicked a Roswell police officer in the head multiple times and repeatedly threatened to kill officers during an arrest at a MARTA bus stop on Holcomb Bridge Road, according to Roswell Police Department incident reports first reported by Appen Media reporter Hannah Yahne.

The man now faces four charges, including two felonies: making terroristic threats and acts, and felony obstruction of officers. He was also charged with public indecency and public drunkenness. He was booked into the Fulton County Jail.

The incident began before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, when the man called police himself to report he had fallen at the bus stop. While officers were en route, dispatchers monitoring a traffic camera at the intersection spotted the man exposing himself to passing drivers while urinating at the stop.

Responding officers reviewed the camera footage while the man underwent a medical evaluation on scene. They placed him under arrest for public indecency.

Officers noted the man had slurred speech and poor balance. When asked how many drinks he had consumed, he began yelling and threatening to fight officers, according to the incident reports.

The situation escalated quickly. Officers said they had to physically control the man as he shouted expletives and threatened to kill them. When he refused verbal commands to get into the patrol car, officers moved to force him into the backseat.

That's when the man kicked an officer in the head multiple times, according to the responding officers. They restrained his legs and dragged him into the vehicle. He continued kicking the car door.

The threats continued during transport and at the hospital, officers said.

Under Georgia law, a terroristic threat directed at a law enforcement officer or one that suggests death is elevated from a misdemeanor to a felony. Felony obstruction, defined as resisting an officer by offering or doing violence, carries one to five years in prison plus a minimum $300 fine.

The Roswell Police Department did not provide additional comment beyond the incident reports. The case is pending in Fulton County, and no court date has been announced.
