Alpharetta and Milton residents who want safer bike routes, less-congested intersections, or better transit connections can weigh in on a new regional transportation plan without ever setting foot in a government meeting.

The North Fulton Comprehensive Transportation Plan will be introduced to residents at a pop-up engagement booth during Avalon Nights Live on Friday, July 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 400 Avalon Blvd. in Alpharetta. The project team will be on-site to collect feedback on current transportation challenges and future priorities while the Kurt Thomas Band plays in the Plaza.

The City of Alpharetta announced the engagement effort on Thursday, July 23, describing the plan as a regional effort to identify transportation needs and priorities across five North Fulton cities. The Atlanta Regional Commission is leading the work in partnership with Alpharetta, Milton, Johns Creek, Roswell, and Sandy Springs, with engineering and planning firm Kimley-Horn managing the project's public engagement platform.

The city's announcement invited residents to share what's working, what isn't, and what improvements they want to see. The plan will cover roads, trails, and transit connections serving residents, businesses, and visitors throughout the corridor.

Residents who can't make the July 31 event will have a second opportunity at a public open house on Wednesday, August 19, at 5:30 p.m. at Preston Ridge Community Center, 3655 Preston Ridge Road, Suite 100, Alpharetta. An online survey is also expected to launch before August 19; as of July 23, no link was live.

Avalon Nights Live is a free weekly outdoor concert series running Fridays through October. No reservations are needed. Attendees can bring blankets or chairs; coolers are not allowed.
