Fifteen companies relocated to or expanded in Alpharetta over the past 12 months, adding more than 1,328 jobs and $73 million in investment along the GA-400 corridor.
The figures come from an August economic-development update by Select Fulton, the county's business-recruitment arm, first reported by the North Atlanta Star. The wave includes household names like Equifax and Hisense alongside energy-technology firm Landis+Gyr and medical-device manufacturer PAJUNK.
Not all of those jobs are new to metro Atlanta. Six of the first nine projects were relocations from elsewhere in the region, with those companies leasing more than 155,000 square feet of Alpharetta office space. But for residents of North Fulton, the shift means more employers within a short commute.
Who moved and who grew
By April, nine companies had already relocated or expanded in the city over a nine-month stretch, accounting for more than 1,200 jobs and $33 million in investment, according to the city's economic-development office. Six additional companies pushed the 12-month total to 15.
The relocations read like a roll call of the Windward and North Point corridors:
- Hisense moved its U.S. headquarters from Gwinnett County to a 55,000-square-foot office at 5995 Windward Parkway, cutting the ribbon Jan. 15.
- Kloeckner Metals relocated its headquarters to a 23,069-square-foot office in Sanctuary Park in April, bringing about 120 employees and a $1.3 million capital investment.
- Kawneer signed a lease for roughly 29,400 square feet at the Continuum development in the Windward Tech District, planning to move about 100 corporate jobs by June.
- 5Q, an IT and cybersecurity firm, relocated from Peachtree Corners to a 12,000-square-foot office on Founders Parkway in late 2025.
ACCIONA and Ansell also relocated from within metro Atlanta.
On the expansion side, Equifax announced a $25 million investment in its Windward Concourse campus in September 2025, creating space for nearly 250 new high-tech jobs over three years. Once complete, the campus will house roughly 1,660 employees, making it Equifax's largest office worldwide. The city said the Alpharetta Development Authority provided a tax incentive that helped secure the expansion over competing cities.
Landis+Gyr expanded its North American headquarters in the North Point area in spring 2026, moving most of its operational management team and C-suite executives to Alpharetta. The company already employed more than 385 people locally when the expansion was announced.
Why companies keep choosing Alpharetta
Mayor Jim Gilvin pointed to the city's workforce in a July 7 CBS Atlanta interview: "We have 107,000 jobs in the city of Alpharetta. We only have about 67,000 residents, according to the census. So on a daily basis, we generally have at least 40,000 additional people here beyond our resident population."
Gilvin said roughly 900 technology companies now operate in the city. A March CoworkingCafe study ranked Alpharetta No. 1 among U.S. small cities for career opportunities, citing a median household income near $173,310 and unemployment around 2%.
Who's hiring now
Two of the expanding companies are actively posting Alpharetta roles. Equifax listings as of Aug. 14 include a senior data analyst, data product owner and intermediate site reliability engineer. Landis+Gyr had eight open positions, including a staff firmware engineer ($98,122–$142,088 base) and a senior software-development engineer ($100,600–$125,420).
Landis+Gyr is also recruiting for a paid fall 2026 co-op for undergraduates who can work full-time during alternating semesters at its Alpharetta headquarters.
